Vinyl is chosen for its inherent resistance to corrosion, rot, and warping, making it an ideal material for exterior applications that are exposed to varying weather conditions. The vinyl extrusions are often reinforced with internal structural elements to enhance rigidity and support the weight of the glass panels.
Frame and Sash Construction:
- Multi-Chambered Vinyl Profiles: The frames and sashes are constructed from multi-chambered vinyl extrusions. These internal chambers provide structural strength and create insulating air pockets, contributing to improved thermal performance.
- Fusion-Welded Corners: The corners of the frames and sashes are typically fusion-welded. This process melts and joins the vinyl at the corners, creating a strong, watertight, and airtight seal that enhances the door's structural integrity and prevents leaks.

Glass and Glazing:
